Eye Exam Image

Are you are looking for a comprehensive eye exam in Indianapolis and the nearby areas by optometrists who will take a personal interest in you and your vision? Then you should look to Moody Eyes for your eye care. We have the experience, knowledge, instruments, eyeglasses, and contact lenses to take care of you. Remember, quality eye care starts with your eye exam.

We provide much more than just a basic eye exam. We can diagnose and treat dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, red eyes, pink eye, contact lens problems, and other medical eye conditions. If you require surgery or specialized eye care we will refer you to the best ophthalmologist for your condition.

Visual acuity test

Out of the eye tests, this one is probably the most well-known although most probably refer to it as the eye chart test. People will be asked to sit down in a chair at least 20 feet away from the eye chart. The test is performed on each eye one at a time.

Refraction test

This test is necessary to determine the proper lens power that patients need to make up for refractive errors due to nearsightedness, farsightedness, and other conditions. To do this, the eye doctor will shine a light into the patients’ eyes and flip a series of lenses in a machine known as the phoropter.

Tonometry

Tonometry measures the pressure by the fluid inside the eye that helps maintain the eye shape. This test is primarily done to assess patients’ risk for glaucoma. To get the measurement, an eye doctor applies eye drops to the patients and places a handheld device close to the eyes.

Complete vision examinations allow eye doctors to determine the extent of damage patients have inflicted upon their eyesight due to bad habits. Following these exams, Indianapolis eye care professionals can advise patients on management options like prescription glasses or contact lenses.

We have specialized examination equipment to conduct eye exams for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, use of high-risk medicines (such as Plaquenil), and other systemic diseases. Many of these diseases require regular follow-up eye care.

Many medical eye exams can be billed through your medical insurance plan, Medicare, or Medicaid.

Do you have vision insurance for your eye exam? We are providers for most vision insurance plans. We will help you get your maximum benefit to minimize your out-of-pocket expense for your eye exam.

No insurance? No problem. We have affordable eye exam prices for both regular eye exams and for contact lens exams. We also have frame and lens packages that save you up to 60% on your eye exam, eyeglasses, and contact lenses. Many of our patients are surprised by how much we can save them compared to the so-called discount optical stores. We can save you money even compared to online eyeglasses…plus we are here to serve you after you buy.

Moody Eyes has two convenient locations to serve you:
South: Serving Greenwood, Southport, Franklin, and Center Grove

Testimonial

Very, very satisfied with my visit! I recently moved to Indianapolis and needed to get some new glasses and try contacts for the first time. The office was easy to make appointments with, and the doctor (Amy) was EXTREMELY friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get the contacts I needed, as well as lenses put into a pair of glasses I purchased online. -- All at an affordable price.
